Claudio Rodriguez is a migrant raised in Tucson. He grew up in gangs and witnessed the devastating effects of poverty, violence, and systematic oppression. Through the local neighborhood collective, Tierra y Libertad, interested in community transformation, he gained skills in community building and organizing with a focus on accessibility to healthy food and environmental and food justice. With ten years of experience growing food and community organizing, he has developed leaders that can take charge of controlling their own narrative for their community. Claudio is the School Garden Coordinator for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. He teaches gardening workshops, building community and gardens, and mentors students, interns, and teachers.
