The Agnese Nelms Haury Program in Environment and Social Justice honors and encourages outstanding senior faculty at the University of Arizona through its Distinguished Chair appointments.

Initially recognizing four scholars as Distinguished Chairs, the Haury Program chose each recipient based on each scholar's achievement in work related to the environment, social justice and/or the Southwest.

The five-year appointment carries a financial award of $80,000/year to encourage mentoring and new research in these areas.
