Tammy Barnett is an Arizona native born in Flagstaff and then moved to Tucson as a child. She attended Santa Rita High School. Pima College and the University of Arizona. Tammy married Robbie Barnett, and together they raised a blended family. Tammy has worked in retail and pipeline construction and owned a long-haul trucking company and a construction company.

Tammy first met Mrs. Haury in the late 1980s when she accepted a position as a part-time bookkeeper and became Mrs. Haury's trusted friend and advisor. While working for Mrs. Haury and in the contracting business, Tammy took on the challenge of attending nursing school. The latter equipped Tammy to eventually serve as Mrs. Haury's guardian, a responsibility that she fulfilled capably and lovingly. Tammy now works for Encompass Health as a registered nurse providing home health care services. In addition, she enjoys hunting, camping, and spending time with her family.
