Tribal Forum panel

The University of Arizona Native American Advancement & Tribal Engagement is partnering with University of Arizona Law, IRes and other programs to bring together tribal leaders, lawyers, judges and students with top nationally-recognized tribal law experts. The opening panel of the Forum is open to the public to attend online on Wednesday, September 2023 from 8:30 to 10:30 am via Zoom.

Join the online discussion as we aim to explore: Where has the Court been, what recent decisions tell us, and what are we watching closely? What about life after McGirt/Castro-Huerta and what do we make of the ongoing challenges to tribal sovereignty post-Castro-Huerta?

This online panel will particularly discuss the following recent cases:

McGirt v. Oklahoma

Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta

Arizona v. Navajo Nation;

Sackett v. Environmental Protection Agency;

Coughlin/Lac du Flambeau case;

Brackeen v. Haaland.
